A large wind driven fire at a foam factory in the City of Orange, California lit up the night sky early Wednesday morning and could be seen for miles. The fire was reported at 12:30 a.m. and reached 4 alarms. The fire spread for nearly a block in length and created a strong wind that sent fire balls 100 feet into the air. Dozens of explosions from propane and chemical tanks rocked the neighborhood.
The smoke plume from the fire extended to the northwest at least 20 miles and reached the Pacific ocean.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
